We made these for the Girls' Night In last month; we kept these hidden until the end of the night and brought them out as a surprise for our guests, who were very impressed!
I'll be honest with you. These take a bit of time. It was definitely easier - and more fun! - making them with someone though!
Step 2. Ice the cupcakes! Because of how they'll be set up, you just want spread the icing over with a knife (no need for piping). Once you've iced them, go ahead and decorate with edible glitter, sprinkles, cachous and whatever you like!
Step 4. Coat your arches in chocolate! This bit is pretty fun, and we probably ate as much chocolate as we used. If you want to colour your chocolate, make sure you use oil-based food colouring or pre-coloured chocolate drops; water-based food colouring like Queen Food Colouring will ruin chocolate.
After this step, the instructions we had told us to frost the edges of the arches. After doing this and construction, we realised that it would be better to do this after construction, and I will write these instructions based on that!
Step 6. Take your wafer stick, measure and cut to fit under the arch. Melt some chocolate, dip the edge of the wafer stick in the chocolate and stick it to the arch. Hold until it sets. This is where you'll find having two people is easier - one person can hold the arch in place, while the other person holds the wafer stick underneath.
Step 8. Voila! High heel cupcakes! Enjoy them!
